POLICE CALLED ON BLACK FAMILY IN PHILADELPHIA THEATER
SOMETIME back in April, two black individuals were denied entry to a Philadelphia Starbucks’ restroom which led them to sit down and wait for a friend. This somehow made its way to the two individuals being arrested. Now, another story came from Philadelphia. Black Lives Matter supporter, Ashley Jimenez went to Facebook to explain the poor experience her and her family had at a local Cinemark 6 on 40thand Walnut. The family claimed there was a loud beeping by their seats while they were watching “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom”. This prompted them to bring up the issue to staff who supposedly did nothing. The family requested a refund after no improvements were made. Supposedly, they were told they could not re-enter the theater despite their children still being inside. That’s when police were called on the family claiming them to be a “disturbance”. No arrests were made, refunds were provided, and – most importantly – the family went home together.A spokseperson for the cinema claims they did not stop Jimenez from re-entering the theater to get her children. The spoksperson said that they regret that her and her family had a poor experience and would welcome them back any time.
