Student Makes Political Statement by Tossing Classmate’s MAGA Hat to the Ground

A student going to Union Mine High School in El Dorado, California got offended by a classmate who was wearing a MAGA hat. Now, she’s suspended for a week from school and could be facing legal charges.

According to reports, a student by the name of Jo-Ann Butler walked up to a classmate and took the hat from atop his head. She then tossed it to the ground and was instructed to leave by a teacher. She later came back and repeated her action. The only difference being she reportedly slapped the teacher’s arm when attempts to separate the two students were made.

Butler claims she acted this way to express her political feelings. “That’s a racist and hateful symbol,” Butler claimed.“Maybe just wake people up in some type of way, because it’s not cool the environment our classroom is in.”

Even her father didn’t completely approve of how she acted. While he approved of the message her daughter was trying to convey, didn’t like her taking a person’s property and tossing it to the ground. He’s now forced to take the brunt of the legal hit.

The school she was attending had no policy against wearing political clothing. Even though she basically admitted to a crime, she still may not be formally charged.
